What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a medical procedure in which an exfoliating blade is used to skim the unwanted facial hair and dead cells. This is also called microplaning, blading, or skin leveling. Dermaplaning makes your skin look radiant and youthful by making the skin surface smoother. Dermaplaning is recommended for both men and women suffering from dull skin, acne scars, dry skin, fine wrinkles, unwanted facial hair, and sun-damaged skin.

How does Dermaplaning work?

During a Dermaplaning treatment, a razor-like tool is used to skim off the dead cells and unwanted hair. This sterile blade is held at an angle of 45 degrees. Your skin is exposed to dirt, and environmental toxins that deposit on the top layer of skin making it look dull and aged. Dermaplaning causes the dead cells to be cleared and helps in the regeneration of new cells.

This is a painless skin care treatment but some patients experience a slight tingling sensation. This is completely normal. The scrapping of dead skin cells works as exfoliation of the skin. The length of the treatment is usually 20 to 30 minutes and has no downtime.
