The body has a remarkable capacity to repair and renew itself. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a cutting-edge treatment that harnesses and amplifies those abilities to achieve a variety of cosmetic and functional goals. PRP has experienced growing popularity recently owing to its promise in a number of areas, including aesthetic medicine, sports medicine, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ophthalmology and others.
At Luxe MD Aesthetics, we offer PRP treatments for hair restoration and joint pain. These state-of-the-art procedures can be highly effective with minimal pain, downtime and risks associated with surgery.
Call (702) 478 7180 today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Bikas Sharma and find out if PRP therapy is right for you.
Plasma is the primary liquid component of whole blood. It is rich in nutrients, antibodies and proteins, and acts as a medium for other components of blood — red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets — to circulate through the body. Platelets are best known for the role they play in forming blood clots to stop bleeding. They also contain proteins called growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation and promote healing.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is formulated from your own blood. In a PRP treatment, a small amount of your blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge for processing. The centrifuge separates the blood into distinct layers containing various concentrations of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. The layer of plasma that is rich in platelets is then collected and injected back into your body in the affected area, where it can stimulate your natural regenerative processes.
Hair loss is more than a physical change to your body. For both men and women, thinning or receding hair can represent diminishing attractiveness, fading youth and a loss of perceived masculinity or femininity. PRP therapy can reduce the cosmetic impact of early hair loss by stimulating hair follicles to produce new growth. When injected into the area of the scalp impacted by hair loss, PRP helps trigger the growth phase of the hair cycle, maintain growth by increasing blood supply to the follicle and increase hair shaft thickness. Multiple initial treatment sessions and regular follow-up visits are typically required to achieve optimal hair restoration. PRP therapy is sometimes combined with other hair loss procedures or medications to maximize hair growth.
When your joints are healthy, you can tackle physical tasks with ease. When a joint is damaged, either by an injury or years of natural wear and tear, it can become stiff, tender and swollen. Chronic joint pain turns routine activities into daily challenges. For those affected, it can be difficult to stay active, sleep soundly, maintain a positive state of mind and enjoy a high quality of life. PRP therapy can help by alleviating pain, reducing inflammation and stimulating tissue repair. This is often an exciting option for patients who hope to avoid the lengthy recovery and higher risk of complications that accompany surgery to repair a damaged joint. PRP can be used in combination with other treatments to manage joint pain.
Don’t let chronic pain or a lack of confidence dominate your life any longer. PRP therapy can restore the structure and function of damaged tissue with minimal pain, little downtime and no scars. Dr. Bikas Sharma is proud to offer these advanced treatments for hair restoration and joint pain to patients in the Greater Las Vegas area.
